Combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) has led to a major reduction in HIV-related mortality and morbidity. However, HIV still cannot be cured. With the absence of an effective prophylactic or therapeutic vaccine, increasing numbers of infected people, emerging new toxicities secondary to cART and the need for life-long treatment, there is now a real urgency to find a cure for HIV.There are ...

In several recent conferences, the principal questions have been whether xenotransplantation technology should be encouraged and, if so, how it should be regulated. Because the prospect of successful transplantation of animal organs into humans is still remote, the rush to achieve consensus about clinical application would be inexplicable were it not for two ostensibly unrelated issues. متن کاملWill this paper ever be cited?
It is an accepted fact of academic life that some papers, in whatever discipline and wherever published, will never be cited. Empirical support for this can be found in studies such as those reported by Glanzel (1992), Rousseau (1994), and Egghe (2000) where the distribution of the time of first citation is investigated. In all cases, it is assumed that never-citation is connected with the perc...

The choice of programming language, the approach by which students are taught and the software tools made available to students have been controversial issues in many ways. While there once was a consensus of some sort within the computer science education community, it is much more difficult to find common ground among those of us who teach introductory programming courses. The literature is e...

By tracking changes in cerebral blood fl ow as a subject performs a mental task, fMRI shows which brain regions " light up " when making a movement, thinking of a loved one, or telling a lie. Its ability to reveal function, not merely structure, distinguishes fMRI from static neuroimaging techniques such as CT sc...
